For this assignment, you work for a private, for-profit company, which has 5 critical care, 35 Advanced Life Support (ALS), and 60 Basic life support (BLS) trucks. You hold the position of a supervisor who routinely makes recommendations to the chief operations officer (COO) regarding new equipment on the market. You are to identify three (3) new Emergency Medical Services EMS products that are currently available or under development. They must have been on the market for less than one year to be considered. You may attempt to contact and interview a sales representative from the company and learn all about the new device or piece of equipment.
Using your “scientific mind,” evaluate these devices and make a recommendation to the COO on each new product. You may take a positive or negative stance as long as you justify your recommendation. At a minimum, you should provide a description of the device and consider cost, savings, redundancy of something you currently use, benefits, etc.
